Friends of Shire

Please donate regularly to help keep your community newspaper.

The Shire newspaper has been part of Shire life for over 50 years.  We are delighted that you are considering becoming a Friend of Shire to help support us in continuing to produce, publish and distribute the paper in the four villages of Shirehampton, Avonmouth, Lawrence Weston and Sea Mills.​

We are reaching out to our community to ask you to consider

becoming a “Friend of Shire” by making a regular donation to help keep us going.

What will you receive in return?

You and every other household in our community will continue to receive Shire News free of charge, produced and delivered entirely by volunteers who live amongst you.

Your name will be listed in every edition as a “Friend of Shire” in our Friends Section, unless you decide to remain anonymous.

You will be entitled to a discount of 10% on personal announcements (birthdays, anniversaries, funeral notices etc.) for every £1 of regular monthly donations made.

You will receive an invitation to our annual volunteers and friends social, with free drinks and snacks.

We’ll need some personal details to set you up, as a minimum a name and/or an email address or phone number and the amount you wish to donate monthly.  You can enrol by completing this form, emailing adverts@Shire.org.uk or by calling Paul on 07742804737 and we’ll set you up.
