Local Information

Almost a decade into the 21st century, Shirehampton Village still retains the character and charm which make it such a pleasant place to live.  Despite its close proximity to the city of Bristol in one direction, and the industrial growth of Avonmouth in the other, the Village has a unique style.  There have been a number of battles fought over the last few years, some lost, some won and others still in progress, but the community is determined to hold on to the special things that make Shirehampton what it is today.

Buses

Shirehampton has a liberal filling of Churches, schools, shops and pubs.  It is serviced by a regular bus service if you find you have to travel away and can't be bothered to take the car.  We have amateur dramatics and if you need even more culture we have a library located in a charming Edwardian building.  The natives are extremely friendly — come down and see for yourself.

We have a number of beautiful parks and interesting antiquities nearby. These include Blaise Castle Estate, Kingsweston Roman Villa and Blaise Castle House Museum.
