About the Exhibition

 Celebrating the work of local crafts people.

The exhibition was set up in 1986 to celebrate the work of local crafts people and groups in Shirehampton and surrounding areas.

It is a non‐profit making annual event with any profits after costs, including those from the café, being distributed to support craft or community groups in the area.

Shirehampton Craft Exhibition is financed by;

Exhibitor fees, entrance fees and income from the sale of teas an coffee.

Any residue after expenses is donated to support local craft or community groups within Shirehampton.

Exhibiting & Selling

Can I exhibit without volunteering

Yes, you can. There is no requirement for exhibitors to be in attendance of their exhibits.

There is no requirement for exhibitors to demonstate their craft (although it would be nice if you could).

Can I exhibit and volunteer

Yes you can be both an exhibitor and a volunteer. There is no requirement for exhibitors to be in attendance of their exhibits. Just complete the appropriate sections of the application form when available on Wednesday, 1st September.

How do I apply to exhibit

Complete the registration section and list your exhibits in the appropriate section of the printed or online application form when available on Wednesday, 1st September.

When using the pre‐printed application form you may need to use the pre‐printed additional exhibit item sheets also available on Wednesday, 1st September.

Can I sell my craft items

Yes, just complete the registration form and list your stock in the appropriate section of the printed or online application form when available on Wednesday, 1st September.

Fees & Charges

Exihibitor ‐ not for sale (nfs) Free of charge.

Sellers registration fee ‐ £1.00

Sales commission ‐ 10% of declared item value.

Please Note:Fees ‐ will be collected during registration at the Public Hall ‐ Monday, 25th October 2021
Income from sales ‐ Exhibitors will receive proceeds from sale of goods minus the 10% at the end of the Exhibition on the Saturday.

Sellers please note ‐ Sellers are required to have at least 3 items for display in the Exhibition area either marked nfs or with a green ticket and sold on the same ‘green ticket’ basis as above

Volunteering

What’s involved in setting up (Roadie)

  • Set up Sunday afternoon for an hour and Saturday late afternoon 1 hour
  • Physically moving stands and tables
  • Collecting up and grouping exhibits ready for collection

Crafting demonstrations

This is an opportunity for crafts people or groups to promote their craft.

  • Applications to demonstrate are made on the application form
  • A table is provided and allocated by the Exhibition
  • A demonstrator is expected to provide all the materials
  • Visitors should not be charged if they ’have a go’.
  • The demonstrator may sell goods directly from their demonstration table (giving 10% to the exhibition)

What’s involved in Stewarding

  • Slots tend to be from 10.00 - 13.00 or 13.00 - 16.00
  • On the door (sit down role) taking entrance fees, welcoming visitors.
  • Stewarding in the hall, welcoming visitors, keeping exhibits safe, assisting vistors with queries
  • Helping with teas and coffees
